Lee Newman

#77: Defence

About

I first took to the ice in 1998 at Romford as a complete novice and joined the Romford Rangers ice hockey team in 1999. Since then I’ve attended 3 hockey camps in the Czech Republic and in Guelph Canada. I currently play for the Chelmsford Nighthawks IHC.

I joined the national Firefighters team in 2004, and gained a silver medal at world firefighter games the same year held in Sheffield. I took control of the UK Firefighters team in 2007 and entered the 2008 world fire and police games in Liverpool, gaining another silver. I then took the team to New York for the 2011 World fire and police games, where we finished outside of the medal spaces but won a few games against tough opposition on the way.
